If you manage a dynamic website with changing content, this update is for you. Concrete CMS 9.4.0 brings two big improvements to how content updates and background processes work — helping keep your site fresh and your operations smooth.
Boards Now Auto-Refresh
You no longer need to manually regenerate Boards after adding new blog posts or events. With 9.4.0, Boards automatically detect changes and refresh on their own.
Here’s what’s improved:
- Content updates are picked up in real time
- Regeneration happens asynchronously to avoid slowdowns
- Custom pin slots and layouts are preserved
- No extra steps needed after publishing content
Whether you're running a blog, a calendar, or a curated homepage, Boards just got easier to maintain.
Background Tasks Are Now Smarter
We’ve also upgraded how Concrete handles background processes like file rescans, thumbnail generation, and bulk operations.
With 9.4.0, tasks:
- Continue running even if one item fails
- Log errors clearly to the CLI, Dashboard, and system logs
- Appear in a new Failed Messages area for troubleshooting
- Can be monitored and reset using a new Manage Processes tool
This means less downtime, better feedback when something goes wrong, and more confidence running automated jobs on your site.
Both features are available now in Concrete CMS 9.4.0 and 9.4.1.
