Concrete CMS 9.4.0 isn't just about visual improvements—it also delivers powerful new tools that make your content more discoverable, measurable, and socially connected.
In this post, we’re taking a closer look at three new features that enhance content sharing, file management, and social integration:
- Built-in Open Graph support
- A new Total File Downloads column in the File Manager
- Bluesky added to supported Social Links
These updates make life easier for content editors, marketers, and site managers who need more control over how their content appears across platforms and how it's being used.
Open Graph Support Comes to the Core
One of the most significant enhancements in 9.4.0 is the addition of native Open Graph tag support. Open Graph tags control how your content appears when shared on social media platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, Slack, Discord, and others.
To find settings for Open Graph Navigate to: System & Settings → Social & Sharing → Open Graph
Now Open Graph is built directly into the CMS and can be configured from the Dashboard.
You can now define Open Graph tag values using attributes from your pages. This makes it easy to pull in consistent, dynamic content without duplicating fields or managing separate metadata.
From the new Open Graph Dashboard page, you can set:
- og:type – Default is "website"
- og:title – Typically the page title
- og:description – A short description or teaser
- og:thumbnail – A preview image for link previews
- fb:app_id – Facebook App ID for analytics or integrations
Track Engagement with Total File Downloads
Also new in 9.4.0 is the option to display Total File Downloads in the File Manager. To find the number of downloads for an asset: Go to the Dashboard → Files→ File Manager
This feature gives you a quick way to track the performance and popularity of downloaded assets like:
- White papers
- Product sheets
- Instruction manuals
- Brochures
- Application forms
- Images
This added column gives editors and site managers more insight into how content is performing without needing to dig into logs or external analytics.
Bluesky Now Supported in Social Links
In 9.4.0, Concrete CMS expands support for modern platforms by adding Bluesky to the Social Links block. Now you can easily link to your Bluesky profile alongside Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and more.
How to Add Bluesky
- Edit any block using the Social Links feature
- Click “Add” and select Bluesky
- Enter your Bluesky profile URL
Your Bluesky link will now appear wherever your Social Links block is used.

These Features Are Available Now
All of these updates are included in Concrete CMS 9.4.0 and the follow-up patch 9.4.1.
Combine them with other new features like dark mode, auto-refreshing Boards, smarter background tasks, and new Atomik theme skins to bring even more power and flexibility to your site.
