My dad used to tell a story of his brilliant lead programmer, Larry. He had gone dark for weeks to write the logic for some important calculation that was critical to the key project. Dad had to show progress. Lots of money had been spent and the client needed to see the magic happen. Larry declared himself "Done!" and sat my Dad down for a demo.

In order for everyone to understand and follow Semantic Versioning 2.0 we are going to remove the leading 5 from our versioning. The next major version of concrete5 is going to be Version 8.0.0.

You have about 15 seconds to impress a visitor to your website and make them want to stay. You can do this in many ways including the design, page speed, and content. However, one overlooked method to optimize your website is to optimize your 404 error page.

A 404 error occurs when a visitor lands on a page that doesn't exist and the standard page is just the browser telling you that the page can't be found. This standard page certainly isn't going to impress anyone.

With the features that exist even in legacy version 6, plenty of proud site owners have built powerful private websites to help their organization communicate internally. Version 8 is right around the corner and includes a way to easily manage structured centralized content (Express). Weve already got most of the parts, so were putting some love into revisiting the My Account area to enable team collaboration. As I mentioned at the start of the year, it is concrete5s time to graduate from WCM to ECM.
